BMW is all set to introduce its new concept luxury saloon, 9-Series at the Beijing Motor Show

At the end of this April, BMW is all set to introduce its new concept luxury saloon, 9-Series at the Beijing Motor Show. The rumours are out that BMW is planning to position this luxury saloon against Mercedes-Benz S-Class top trims as S600 Maybach. For the Mercedes-Benz, S-Class is kind of bench mark in luxury saloon along with the security and safety features it offers. BMW has always considered Mercedes-Benz as the major rival and the toughest competitor.

The curves of this concept luxury saloon are majorly adapted from the curvaceous and vivacious BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe which made its debut at the 2013 Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance. The platform used for this new car is BMW’s all new, modular platform with the codename of G11.

This architecture is made for the largest cars in line and most probably future Rolls-Royce and 7-Series vehicles will be sharing this very platform. It also has been said that by using this structure in the 7-Series, BMW will be able to trim down several hundred pounds of weight and bring it closer to 5-Series. It is expected that both the 7-Series and the 9-Series will hopefully go on sale in mid 2016.
