The expansion will cost \u00a320m and will create 250 new jobs as Aston Martin promised \u2018next generation of new sports cars\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This \u00a320m will create 10,000 square meters of new chassis and assembly build-zones along with new offices and more storage space. The completion date for the project is targeted in 2015, with Aston promising its business is preparing \u201cto grow substantially\u201d and \u201cgearing up for its next generation of new sports cars\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The money comes from a tie up between <a title=\"Aston Martin\" href=\"http:\/\/www.astonmartin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Aston Martin<\/strong> <\/a>and Mercedes announced last year. Daimler AG takes a 5% stake in Aston Martin\u2019s ownership whereas Aston will share Mercedes\u2019 twin-turbo V8 engine technology as well as electrical systems. Aston Martin Chief Financial Officer, Hanno Kirner commented on the Gaydon plant\u2019s expansion: \u201cThe investment in our Gaydon HQ forms part of our long-term strategy which is focused around being the number one British luxury sports car brand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Keith Stanton, Aston Martin Manufacturing Operations Director added: \u201cWe have the vision of being the best producer in the luxury sports car sector and a new facility, along with the support of our flexible, highly-efficient workforce, will enable us to achieve our goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is worth pointing out that the Gaydon expansion plan comes off the back of a \u00a3500m investment plan given in 2012 by its foreign investors. Aston Martin is focusing on developing DB9 replacement due on sale in 2016. The new generation DB9 will be based on Aston\u2019s all-new architecture, replacing the \u2018VH\u2019 aluminium structure.
